Nail Surgery
In severe or persistent cases of ingrowing toenails, there is a minor procedure available to permanently resolve the problem. It is called a Partial Nail Avulsion and involves the permanent removal of a portion of the toenail under local anaesthetic.
An assessment and a self-care plan would be intiated first, including trimming and the skin away from the nail, practising good foot hygiene and wearing comfortable shoes.
If your ingrown toenail does not improve, we may recommend that part or all of your toenail is surgically removed.
We perform this procedure and your aftercare in our clinic.
